About Ben
I build AI-powered software that belongs to the people who use it. Too many powerful tools are locked behind subscription models and walled gardens — I take those capabilities and package them into standalone applications you can download, own, and run on your own hardware. My current release platform is Steam.
My background is in data science and distributed systems — nearly two decades building infrastructure across energy, healthcare, government, and everything in between. Now I channel all of that into single-purpose AI tools that just work, no cloud required.
My first proprietary release is Chimpshot — a tool that captures raw mouse input during FPS gameplay to detect overshooting and recommend optimal DPI and sensitivity settings. I'm also preparing ChimpChat — local, private text-to-speech with full voice cloning — and Chimptype — AI-powered speaker diarization and transcription. All run 100% on your hardware with no cloud required. Outside of code, I'm a dedicated father and an advocate for using technology to make a real-world impact.

Experience
From systems administration and project management to cloud infrastructure and AI engineering — I've spent nearly two decades building technology at every level of the stack. IaaS, SaaS, distributed systems, software engineering — that foundation across the full spectrum is what makes the tools I build today actually work.
These days, all that experience goes into one thing: creating standalone AI tools that run on your machine, not someone else's cloud.
