About Ben

Ben and Bjorn Larson

I build AI-powered software that belongs to the people who use it. Too many powerful tools are locked behind subscription models and walled gardens — I take those capabilities and package them into standalone applications you can download, own, and run on your own hardware. My current release platform is Steam.

My background is in data science and distributed systems — nearly two decades building infrastructure across energy, healthcare, government, and everything in between. Now I channel all of that into single-purpose AI tools that just work, no cloud required.

I'm currently preparing two products for launch: ChimpChat — a local, private text-to-speech engine with full voice cloning — and DataChimps — AI-powered speaker diarization and transcription. Both run 100% on your hardware with no cloud required. I'm also building AimFixer MouseTuner, a tool that analyzes your mouse movement to find your ideal DPI and sensitivity. Outside of code, I'm a dedicated father and an advocate for using technology to make a real-world impact.

Experience

19 Years in Tech

From systems administration and project management to cloud infrastructure and AI engineering — I've spent nearly two decades building technology at every level of the stack. IaaS, SaaS, distributed systems, software engineering — that foundation across the full spectrum is what makes the tools I build today actually work.

These days, all that experience goes into one thing: creating standalone AI tools that run on your machine, not someone else's cloud.
